On Patience.
You're not being a mumu, you're trying to pass the test🤌
Hiii, as-salaam alaykum warahmatullah wabarakaatuh.
How have you all been? Me, I've been burying my head in the sand, literally. Zero productivity, zero anything. I went on a social media break right after I finished exams and only came back because I realized I had responsibilities to attend to. Been back for weeks now, have I attended to them? No. Will I attend to them? I’ll try, after sending this letter, so help me God. (This paragraph happened almost one month ago, look where we are now🥲)
So I had a disagreement with a friend sometime ago and tensions were running high when the conversation was over.
The next day, the friend shared a Facebook post and from here comes a reminder I'd like to share. The writer says, ‘each person is tested with his companion’ and she reeeaally couldn't have said it better.
Allah says,
وَجَعَلْنَا بَعْضَكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ فِتْنَةً أَتَصْبِرُونَۗ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ بَصِيرًا
And We have made some of you [people] as trial for others – will you have patience? And ever is your Lord, Seeing.
Al-Furqan 25:20
I've reflected on this so muchhh, subhanaLlahhh.
Can you just take a minute to think about the number of times we have clashes arising from the individual differences in our interpersonal relations?
Now, can you think again of how much of a difference a little bit of patience would make in these situations? It could be everything!
In every single interaction we have with every person we interact with everyday, there's an opportunity to worship Allah through it and earn so much reward as well as a chance to make things easier for yourself and the other person.
So, it's a win-win. You exercise a little bit of patience and in return:
-you earn the reward of the patience
-you give yourself the opportunity to take the easy way out because, let's face it, nobody likes stress and clashes can be stressfulll. (If you do like stress,na you sabi🌚). So you make things easier for yourself.
-you make things easier for the other person and you earn the reward for that too.
-add up whatever other advantage you can think of to it and let it serve as a reminder everytime your body start to dey hot🌚
Before you mention it, no, I’m not asking that you become a mumu or that you let yourself be a doormat…just breathe, before you react, remember Allah asking you…“اتصبرون؟—Will you have patience?” and remember you're being tested.
Now, will you have patience?🌚
You no go like pass test?🌝
Anyhoo, that’s the reminder.
Before I scurry back into the hole I've been in for the past month, I recently published my first short story on my Medium and I'm really excited.

If you do read and like it, kindly react to it pleaze🙂

Also, Umm Khalid's Facebook post inspired this reminder. May Allah reward her. Aameen.
Lastly, my friend is getting married tomorrow, kindly make Dua for her please, will you?🥺
JazaakumuLlahu khayr. As-salaam alaykum warahmatullah wabarakaatuh 💜✨
