Your favorite Substack ghost is here...
...and as usual, with reminders in tow.🤝
Yaa Salaammmmmm!
Eiiiiii. SubhanaLlah.
Has it been months since I last opened Substack or has it been months since I last opened Substack???
Yaa Ilaahiiiii.
*screams in drama queennnn and astaghfiruLlah a'udhubiLlahhhhh*
Okay, let's take this one step at a time.
Hello there, as-salaamu 'alaykum warahmatuLlahi wabarakaatuH.
How are you doing and how have you been?? Me, I've been all over the place. School's been hectic and life has been, well, alhamduliLlah. Because, really, alhamduliLlah.
Why have I been MIA?
Everything I've written in the past months that was not a school paper, test or exam has either sounded off or it was my deepest darkest secrets that I can't share with y'all yet because, well, our bestieship has just not entered that stage yet.🌚
I blame it all on school. Let's stop there before I start rambling again.
Anyhooo.
I've thought long and hard about how to show up again in your mails and I just cleared up the entire letter I spent the past 40 mins drafting up to apologize with because I finally decided to show up as usual, with a reminder in hand.
So that's exactly what I'll do.
BismiLlah.
Today's Reminder
These verses from Surah Maryam…
41.
“And mention in the Book [the story of] Abraham. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet.”
54.
And mention in the Book, Ismail. Verily, he was true to his promise and he was a Messenger and a Prophet.
56.
And mention in the Book Idrees. Indeed he was a man of truth and a prophet.
What similarities do you see in these three verses?
I'll keep this short because I have malaria and my eyes are starting to turnionion and I've almost finished my daddy's plantain chips, writing this letter. God eppus.
Where was I? The similarities in the verses. Yess.
Fẹz and fọmoz, Allah loves truthfulness. Honesty. But this is not the first time you're hearing that, so this is a reminder that, again, Allah loves truthfulness.
I mean, do you see how Allah describes each of those prophets?? SubhanaLlah.
Ibrahim(AS). His Rabb describes him to the world as a man of truth.
Ismail (AS). His Rabbi bears him witness that he was true to his promise.
Idrees(AS). His Rabb describes him as a man of truth.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how absolutely cool and amazing that is?? That Allah, our Ilaah, The Rabb of the heavens, the Earth and everything between them…The Creator of everything, The Mighty, The One who is The Beginning and The End…bears witness to the entirety of His creations that “this person is a person of truth”. SubhanaLlah. SubhanaLlahhh.
Yaa Salaammmmmm.
And me, who wants to enter the same Jannah…my neighbors would probably have to take a minute before they can even think of one good quality about me…and those are people who do not even see a quarter of what I do and say in a day…so what does Allah think of me? The One who sees my every thought, speech and action…unfiltered…
Until my next letter, I'll leave you with these questions too…
If Allah could ask everyone who knows you (/of you) to describe you in one word, what would that word be?
And if Allah would Himself describe you in one word, what would that word be?
May Allah rectify us and make us better slaves to Him. May Allah purify our thoughts, speech and actions. May Allah make us people of truth. Aameen.
Until laters,
As-salaamu ‘alaykum warahmatuLlahi wabarakaatuH.
PS. Can we be besties again?🥺
I'm accepting Yeses in likes and shares. Thank yoouuu.❤️✨
